Can you really see the future?

divination.gif

There are many different forms of divination that witches use. The best time for divination is during the full moon, or when the moon is waxing. Some different methods for divination include: tarot, scrying, pendulums and runes. We will try to give some basic information on each. Remember, as always get a good book on whatever way strikes you as feeling comfortable to you. Witches use divination mostly to get a feel about the outcome of a spell before they do it.

RUNES-
There are several methods used to divine with runes, some involving complex preparations. I've outlined a simple method you can try with a minimum of fuss.

The first step is to obtain a set of runestones. The preferred material for a set of runes is wood from a nut or fruit bearing tree, but stones are available made of many materials. It is also fairly simple to construct your own set by carving or painting the characters on chips of wood, or painting them on stones or glass tiles.

Next, find a flat, clean surface on which to carry out your divination- a table top or altar is ideal. Have with you your stones, a bag or a container you can fit your hand into, and something to record your results. Take some time to relax and meditate on your query, then draw three stones in succession and lay them face down in a row on the table.

The first stone represents the past nature of the situation, the backdrop, if you will. It may be a person, place, or circumstance, depending on which character appears. For instance, Raido can refer to a physical journey, or a spiritual path; etc.

The second stone is the present or the near future, finally the third is the outcome of the first two- the possible future. Write down your impressions, you may recieve further insights or even dreams which may help to further interpret the reading.

TAROT-
A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards. The first 22 cards are the Major Arcana. These cards have symbolic meanings focused on the material world, the intuitive mind, and the realm of change. The remaining 56 cards are the Minor Arcana, and are divided into four groups or suits: Swords, Pentacles (or Coins), Wands and Cups.

Each of the four suits focuses on a theme. Sword cards generally indicate conflict or moral issues, while Cups reflect matters of emotion and relationships. Coins focus on the material aspects of life, such as security and finance, while Wands represent things like jobs, ambition, and activity.

Any experienced Tarot reader will tell you that reading cards is an intuitive process. Like any other form of divination, the cards become a focal point for your own psychic abilities. There is any number of different spreads, or layouts, which can be used in a Tarot reading. Some readers use elaborate layouts, while others may just pull out three to five cards and see what they need to see.

SCRYING-
Scrying is the art of gazing into a reflective surface to see into the future. It can be a mirror, a crystal ball, or even water in your cauldron. It needs to be done at night, and it is best to do during a full moon. Scrying takes lots of practice. It is also one of the oldest methods of divination used by witches.

Here is a link to a webpage that explains scrying really well. Check it out.

What you send out, comes back to you-times 3.
