Updates
Mood:  a-ok

I just thought I would drop in and give a few updates. I have included some information about Samhain on the Wheel of the Year page. I am also happy to report that my new cat, Cujo, (named by my children) is about six months old now and is turning into a beautiful tom cat. He is a little furrier than most and solid black except for a patch on his belly that is only visible if you turn him over. I think he may actually be my familiar and I am happy about that. He comes only when I call him and sometimes I wake up to find him just sitting and watching me sleep. He definitely rules the household, even the dogs know he is in charge. I had to delete my email address from the site because of abuse from automatic mailers. So, please, if you have a question or comment do it here and I will do my best to respond. I hope you had a wonderful Mabon and I wish you a Blessed Samhain. If you have some Samhain traditions that you would like to share, please post them here it helps those that are new to the craft to find their own traditions.

Merry Meet and Merry Meet Again!Smile

New Wiccans
Mood:  not sure

I get lots of emails from people who are new to Wicca. Since my site is aimed toward the newbies, that's good. So many say the same things they are so worried about performing a spell right or doing a ritual properly. So that led me to take a moment and make a note about what Wicca should be. First, it should not stress you out, quite the opposite. I encourage people to read lots of books not because you should be seeking out the right way to do anything, only so that you are exposed to other people's way of doing things. The more you know, the better you will become at adapting things to suit yourself. That is when the real power will come to you. When you can write your own spell, or create your own ritual, you will empower them with your own personal energy, that is being a true Wiccan. Remember, Wicca is flexible because it is based upon your personal energy. Everyone's energy is different so it needs to be adapted to suit you. Relax, it will come to you. You have all the time in the world, and before you know it, you will be an adept Wiccan.

Good luck and Goddess bless!

What Religion should do for you
Mood:  quizzical

A friend asked me the other day what should religion do for a person anyway? My answer: spiritual guidance free of guilt. Any religion shoudl first and foremost be about helping you to become a better person. Becoming a better person is always the first step to spiritual enlightenment. I think the means is not as important as the end result.

The ability to assess your personal faults is the hardest part, but being open-minded enough to do so is an accomplishment in itself. I think fear tactics in this are defeating the purpose, the idea is that you are able to reach these conclusions on your own, because you want to.

Dont misunderstand me here, I am not bashing any religion, I wouldn't do that, it wouldnt be very Wiccan-like. I simply believe that people should pick their religion based upon their individual needs. If your religion isnt helping you to achieve your goals, maybe it isnt the right one for you.

Explore, learn about other religions, if nothing else, it helps to understand other people better. Who knows? You might stumble upon your calling. Good luck and Goddess Bless. )0(

What's up?
Mood:  celebratory

I havent updated this in a while, and I apologize. Not only have I been working a lot, I have also begun to write a book. It is a story based on a woman who is part witch and part werewolf, with a love interest of course! I'm excited about this, it's something I have always wanted to do. I have written several short stories in the past, but never a full novel. I'll try to keep you posted on its progress. I'm also getting a new kitten, so I'm pretty happy about that. Check out my site often, I'm going to try and do some updates. To keep things simpler, you can now get to my site by putting in http://www.wiccanmagick.net

Mood:  lazy

I have been working my butt off lately, so I havent had much time to be on the internet. Hope everyone had a nice May Day. It rained here. It was a peaceful rain though, which is kinda relaxing. I am getting ready to go out of town for a few days, much needed break. I look forward to summer and to hearing feedback from you. Blessed be.

Mood:  sad
I just wanted to send my condolences  to the families of all the kids at Virginia Tech.  I have lit  a  candle for them. I hope they find help in coming to terms with this terrible tragedy.

Why I Became Wiccan
Mood:  chillin'

I was disenchanted with Christianity by my mother. I always had questions, there seemed to be many discrepancies and when I questioned, I was told that if I believed I wouldnt have so many questions. So, as an adult, I found it fascinating to learn about many religions, maybe I was just trying to see if everyone else was as messed up as we were. I found many to be fascinating, but when I began to read about Wicca, I found myself saying, "Whoa, that's me." It just felt right, and for the first time in my life, a religion made sense to me. I hope it has been like that for you. I love hearing stories about how people discovered Wicca and I love the openness of religion that my family enjoys. I do not push my children in any direction as far as religion is concerned. I encourage them to read and make their own choices. My daughter has decided to follow Wicca and that does make me happy, but she could have made any choice and I would have respected it. I encourage everyone that comes to my website to do their homework, read and research. It will either show you that this might not be for you, or it will solidify your decision. Goddess Bless.
